The Freggie Virtual Event
Learn more about our mission to support youth health
The Freggie program’s main objective is to teach children how important it is to eat healthy foods, like fruits & veggies, and to remain active. Instead of telling kids this, since 2015 a group of cyclists has travelled long distances to schools to show kids what is possible with a healthy lifestyle. This message is more important now than ever as we manage through the covid crisis and many kids are not getting enough activities. This year Freggie wants EVERYONE to participate – kids, parents, teachers! Rollerblading, walking, climbing, cycling! All of it counts toward Freggie’s miles/kilometres. We want to make our entire community healthier and inspire the future generation.
How it Works:
CPMA is using a platform called “My Virtual Mission”. Each day or week, you enter the activities you’ve been doing. All of those activities convert as a pre-set rate which pushes Freggie’s avatar across Canada, stopping virtually at sponsors along the way. It’s not a race, instead as a community our goal is to steadily watch Freggie move across the country to Vancouver! There is a forum where you are free to share you best tips for exercise or healthy eating. Each participant gets put into a weekly random draw for a sweet prize, and those who post tips to the community get an extra vote put into the hat
How to Join:
Entry is simple. Click the link and set up your profile. After that, lace up your shoes or sharpen your skates and be sure to enter your activities on a regular basis!
